I started the TN Report Fall League five years ago with the thought in mind of giving players an opportunity to come in and get some run in prior to the start of the high school season. At the time, I had no experience running something like this, so I started tossing around different ideas to keep my fall league unique from what other leagues do. It was in a conversation with Louisville head coach, Jeff Walz, when we came up with the idea of letting the players play without having coaches on the bench. The idea was brilliant and has been a success with this fall league. It has forced to the players to communicate with each other, call their own timeouts, and simply play the game on their own without having to be told what to do. While the basketball tends to start out a little sloppy in the first week, it only gets better over the next few weeks.
